Progress Since IPCT Treatment (6 Weeks After)

Updated: Jun 3

6 weeks after my 2 week IPCT treatment, I have been remeasured and further plans are being looked at. Once measured, as expected, it was found that my leg has had a small amount of rebound in certain areas and in others it has stayed the same or even become smaller. Despite fluctuating majorly between very active days, I am happy with the results of my measurement but am still determined to get the swelling down more. The next step, as an attempt to try and reduce the swelling in my ankle specifically, is to remeasure for a half leg Class 2 stocking to the knee which will be worn either over or under my current Class 3 full leg stocking. This method is called layering and aims to target problematic areas of the limb with a higher compression. On top of this, in times of need and when my leg is due in for an intensely active day, I have been measured for an at home wrap. This will be black and visually look like a velcro foot to knee support. It is a method which I can self adjust and continuously re-wrap as the swelling moves and focus on the area which visually needs it most in the moment. The aim of this wrap is to shape my leg (similar to the wrapping process in April) and work on moving the swelling into my thigh for me to self massage out of my leg through the lymph gland in my thigh. Massaging the fluid out of my thigh will avoid the risk of the fluid getting stuck in my thigh and a doughnutting effect above my knee.
