Learning Beyond Lived Experience: Research, Webinars and Seminars
While I used to believe I knew everything about lymphoedema simply because I live with it, years of experience have shown me that I had only just scratched the surface. In 2025, I’ve made it my mission to continue learning and growing on this journey so I feel proactive rather than stagnant in managing my condition. While away with work, I’ve been using my free time to explore recent medical studies, attend online webinars, and absorb as much information as possible from trusted online resources. My goal is to not only understand the future of lymphoedema care but to gain a deeper grasp of the current science behind the condition.
Through the Lymphoedema Support Network (LSN), I recently signed up for two insightful symposiums/webinars (linked below), which explore emerging treatments and innovations in lymphoedema management. Although much of what’s discussed is still in early trial phases and I personally remain cautiously optimistic, it’s refreshing to see new developments that challenge the traditional methods of compression and massage alone.
