Lymphoedema United Golf Day 2025: £15,117 for Lymphoedema Research
The Lymphoedema United Golf Day was a truly special occasion that brought our community together in the best possible way. Now in its fourth year but the first time my family and I attended, it proved to be about so much more than golf. It was about the connection, understanding, and shared experiences which we have. The event created a space where families could come together, support one another, and better understand the challenges and strength that exist within our community.
The guest speakers, Dr. Kristiana Gordon and Didi Okoh, were both insightful and inspiring. Their openness to a wide range of questions reflected the resilience and inclusiveness that define our community. For me, the day was invaluable, not only for the fun of the event itself but also for the opportunity to connect with others who share similar journeys and values.
Even my parents, who don’t have lymphoedema themselves, found the day both informative and enjoyable. The event was beautifully organised, by Matt and others, in a stunning venue, Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club, that provided a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It felt like a safe space we could openly share their stories while also supporting a great cause. From breakfast and dinner to the putting competition, raffle, silent auction, and plenty of socialising, the day was filled with energy.
It was an uplifting and memorable occasion, raising an incredible £15,117 for the St. George’s Hospital Charity Lymphoedema Research Fund and I’m already looking forward to next year!
Event supporters; Thuasne, Sock Shop, Sigvaris, Medi, L&R Medical, Jobst Essity, Haddenham, Daylong, and Compression Therapy UK, whose representatives joined us on the day.
