Did I Get Funding?

After a long meeting with the North West DSA needs assessor, she found that there was not much financial help available for my personal care alongside my studying. This was because my Lymphoedema doesn't directly affect my course. Any funds which I was given must benefit my course or university life in some kind of way. It was not possible to receive funds for selective treatments in London nor the hospital travel costs to travel back North for appointments as these are not classed as an academic based cost. Despite being slightly disappointed with the outcome and not being able to get funding for my leg specifically, we found strategies which benefit my course and could assist my leg in such an intense timetable.
I got funding for:
A laptop stand which is a small but convenient stand to put my laptop on whilst doing coursework in bed so my laptop doesn't have to rest on my leg while it's raised. Also, taxi fares from my university to home. 68 single journeys have been applied for but I am not obliged to use every journey. These will allow me to get home quicker and with less strain on my leg using the tube or bus.
These small funds will help me adjust my lifestyle and possibly allow more time to treat my leg.
